This is the second half of the poem, so read the first falf again before you read this.
You might notice that none of my brothers or sister are mentioned in this poem, (even though I have 6 siblings) but that is so that I don't embarrass anyone except myself. Lol!
DISCLAIMER: ANY RESEMBLENCE BETWEEN CHARACTERS IN THIS POEM AND REAL PEOPLE IS PURELY COINCIDENTAL!! PURELY! UTTERLY!! AND COMPLETELY!!
Now we turn our attention to Ethan’s Mother, Lindasses
(Okay, that’s a cheap rhyme)
Where we view the same day through her eyes… and eyeglasses.
.
At a quarter to six the alarm clocks sounds
And Mother gets up to begin her rounds.
.
She trudges to the kitchen and packs Dad a lunch.
As he runs through the door he thanks her a bunch
.
It’s 6:30 now, time for all to awake.
So she turns on the lights and gives Ethan a shake.
.
“It’s time to get up! Open your peeper!”
But he pulls up the covers and crawls down in deeper.
.
“Ethan, get up! Let’s get the day going.”
The blankets lay still… No movement is showing.
.
“You’ll miss out on breakfast, if you don’t get up now!”
Ethan slowly gets up, as late as time will allow.
.
After breakfast and devotions, it’s time to do chores
But reminder after reminder Ethan ignores.
.
He’s daydreaming of becoming a millionaire
And buying his Mother ten diamonds to wear.
.
Ethan’s chore is to sweep, but he leans on his broom
And it takes him an hour to finish one room.
.
Finally he finishes, so he goes to start schooling.
But soon he’s distracted. Instead of working he’s fooling.
.
With many corrections and promptings from Mother
He finishes a subject and goes on to another.
.
At lunch Ethan takes a long break to eat
And finally goes back to school in his seat.
.
But he’s so far behind from letting time leak
That he couldn’t get done till the end of next week.
.
When school time is up, it’s time to make dinner.
It’s Ethan’s turn to help, but Mom feels kindness within her.
.
Ethan’s job is to set the table for dining
But Mom sends him outside while the sun is still shining.
.
When it gets dark, Ethan comes back in the house.
Soon supper is ready, so Mom waits for her spouse.
.
Once Father gets home, everyone digs into the food.
And when supper is done, they start the old feud.
.
“Who will do dishes? It’s your turn.” “No, YOURS!”
“I did it last night.” “But my hands have sores!”
.
Ethan has avoided doing dishes for three days.
So tonight he must make up for his lazy ways.
.
Finally, he’s done… But so is the day.
“It’s time for bed.” Calls Dad, and they all obey.
